Start Your Own Business While Serving Your Community
Becoming a doula with FTV means starting your own business, providing services within your own community, and joining the fight for reproductive justice everywhere.
To date, we have trained over 100 San Diego community members. Our doulas are a beautiful mix of cultures, races, and languages (including Haitian Creole, French, Arabic, Spanish, Turkish, Persian, etc.) that provide a true and full representation of the San Diego community.
Our doulas provide advocacy on a local, national, and international level for marginalized groups such as people of color and queer people. They also create a culture of trust and autonomy by supporting people through the full spectrum of pregnancy experiences and outcomes. Our doulas provide unbiased support for all reproductive experiences without judgment while offering education and resources that are vital, but not commonly given.
How Can I Become an FTV Doula?
FTV offers two pathways to becoming a doula with our organization, so no matter if you are a brand new doula, or are entering our space with experience, there is a space for you.
Our trainings occur once to twice per year. If you are coming in without prior experience as a doula, you will be required to wait until our next training. By filling out our interest form, you’ll be added to our mailing list and we will contact you when our training registration opens up.
